# Create a content block

> Write a reusable content block and make it available in your quote templates

Content blocks are reusable sections of text, such as your company presentation or a case study, that appear at the top of the Dealroom. This guide shows how to create one, add it to a template, and use it in a quote.

## Prerequisites

* You have write access to **Content**
* To add the block to a template, you have write access to templates

## Create the block

**1. Open the content blocks**

In the side menu, click **Content › Content Block**, then click **New block**.

**2. Fill in the general information**

* **Name** \*: for example `Company overview`
* **Reference** and **Description**: for your team
* **Language**: the language of the text. Use one block per language if you sell in several languages
* **Type**: **Introduction**, **Context**, **Objective**, **Company**, **Solution**, **Advantage**, **Case Study**, **Timeline**, **Result**, or **Team**

**3. Write the content**

In **Content**, write the text with the rich text editor. To insert quote or customer data, type `@` and pick a variable, for example `[Customer/Name]`. See [Use dynamic variables](https://docs.qwoty.io/user-guide/documents/how-tos/use-dynamic-variables.md).

**4. Link templates (optional)**

In **Linked Resources**, select the **Templates** where the block should be available.

**5. Activate and save**

Set **Status** to **Active** in the right panel, then click **Save**.

## Make the block available in a template

**1. Open the template**

Click **Template** in the side menu and open the template.

**2. Add the block**

In the **Content** tab, under **Quote content block**, click **Add**, select the block, and confirm.

**3. Set the insertion**

In the table, choose the **Insertion**:

* **Always displayed**: the block is automatically inserted into every quote
* **Available**: sales reps can add it while building the quote

Set **Editable** to let sales reps change the text in their quotes.

**4. Save**

Click **Save**.

## Use the block in a quote

**1. Open the content area**

In the quote editor, expand **General Information**. The **Content** area lists the blocks already inserted.

**2. Add blocks**

Click **Content section**. In **Add content blocks**, filter by type (**All types**), select the blocks, and click **Add n item(s)**. Click **Add empty section** to write a section from scratch.

**3. Adapt and save**

Edit the text if the block is editable, reorder sections by dragging them, then click **Save**.

Use **Preview** in the header to check how the blocks look in the Dealroom.
