# Quote sections

> Reference of the section types, phases, columns, and settings of the Quote section

The **Quote** section of the editor holds the commercial content of the quote. Lines are always grouped in sections. This page lists the section types and their settings. ## Section types

| Type | Added with | Content | Header |
| - | - | - | - |
| Product section | **+ Product section** | One-off products | **One-off** badge, **Item (n)**, section total |
| Plan section | **+ Plan section** | Recurring products, organized in phases | **Recurring** badge, amount **/mo**, **TCV:** |
| Bundle sections | **+ Import bundle** | The sections and products of a bundle from the quote's catalog | Same as the imported section type |

Optional sections show an **Optional** badge.

Depending on your subscription and template, you may also see **+ Add configurated** (a section built from a configured product) and **+ Content section**. Content sections built from content blocks are managed in the **General Information** section of the editor.

## Line columns

| Column | Description |
| - | - |
| Name | Product name, reference, and badges (**Optional**, **Quantity Editable**, **Pay-as-you-go**) |
| **Qty** | Quantity. Shows hints such as "Quantity between 1 and 10" when limits apply |
| **U. Price** | Unit price from the pricebook, editable. The pricing icon opens the pricing model |
| **Discount** | Line discount in percent or fixed amount |
| **Net U. Price** | Unit price after line discounts |
| **Line Total** | Net unit price × quantity |

Hovering a line total shows the breakdown: **Line-item discounts:**, **Taxes:**, **Line:**, **Global discount:**, **Final:**.

## Section settings

Open with **Section settings** (product section) or **Plan settings** (plan section).

| Setting | Values | Description |
| - | - | - |
| **Title** | Text | Name of the section shown to the customer |
| **Billing frequency** | Your billing frequencies | Plan sections only. Billing period of the plan |
| **Type** | **Standard**, **Optional** | An optional section is included only if the customer selects it in the Dealroom |
| **This optional pack is selected** | On / Off | Optional sections only. Preselects the section for the customer |
| **Display** | **Line** | Display mode of the lines |
| **Hide line item's price details** | On / Off | The columns containing price information are empty |
| **Hide subtotal** | On / Off | Hides the section subtotal |
| **Metadata** | Key / Value pairs | Free data stored on the section |

## Phases

Plan sections contain phases, added with **+ Add a phase**.

| Setting | Options |
| - | - |
| Start (**Estimated date**) | **Sign day**, **Delay** (days after signature), **Date**, or the previous phase's end |
| End | **Forever**, **Duration** (**Days**, **Weeks**, **Months**, **Years**, or a **Preset**: **1 month**, **6 months**, **1 year**, **2 years**, **3 years**), **Date** |

A phase that ends **Forever** must be the last one and can't be duplicated.

## Section actions

| Action | Effect |
| - | - |
| **Move section** | Drag to reorder sections |
| **Duplicate section** | Copies the section and its lines |
| **Remove section** | Deletes the section and its lines |
| **+ Add a line** | Opens **Add a line** to add products to the section or phase |
| **Duplicate phase**, **Remove phase** | Copy or delete a phase of a plan section |
