Duplicating a quote creates an exact copy with all products, pricing, and configuration intact. This saves time when creating similar quotes for the same customer or adapting an existing quote for a new opportunity. The duplicated quote is created in Draft status, allowing you to modify it before sharing with your customer.

Prerequisites

  • You have Sales Rep, Manager, or Admin role
  • The original quote exists in any status

Access the quote

Navigate to Project > Quote in the side menu. Find the quote you want to duplicate.

Duplicate the quote

1

Open the duplicate action

Click the [BUTTON LABEL] button or open the actions menu and select [DUPLICATE OPTION].
2

Configure the duplicate

In the duplication dialog, update the following fields:
  • [QUOTE NAME FIELD]: Enter a name for the new quote (defaults to [Original Name] - Copy)
  • [OPPORTUNITY FIELD]: Keep the same opportunity or select a different one
  • [OWNER FIELD]: Assign the quote to yourself or another sales rep
3

Create the duplicate

Click [CONFIRM BUTTON] to create the copy.

What happens next

The system creates a new quote in Draft status and opens it automatically. The duplicate includes:
  • All line items with the same quantities, discounts, and configuration
  • The same template, catalog, and pricebook
  • Custom fields and descriptions
  • Bundle configurations
The duplicate does not include:
  • Approval history
  • Dealroom activity or comments
  • Signatures or acceptance records
  • The original quote number (a new number is assigned)
If the original quote’s pricebook or products are no longer active, the duplicate may contain warnings or pricing errors.

Troubleshooting

You may not have permission to create quotes. Contact your Admin to verify your role includes quote creation rights.
The duplicate uses current prices from the pricebook. If prices were updated since the original quote was created, the new quote reflects the latest pricing. Lock pricing on the original quote before duplicating to preserve historical prices.
Complex product configurations may not duplicate correctly if configurator rules changed. Review each configurable product and adjust settings as needed.
