A pricebook defines the prices applied to products in a catalog, in one currency. You can create several pricebooks for different customer segments, currencies, or pricing strategies. There are two pricebook types:
  • Fixed: uses fixed prices based on the linked catalog. You set each price.
  • Dynamic: automatically calculates prices with a rule applied to a base pricebook (for example, base price × 1.2). Dynamic prices are not editable one by one.

Prerequisites

  • A role with write access to Products & pricing
  • A catalog and a currency
  • For a Dynamic pricebook, an existing Fixed pricebook to use as a base (“Create a fixed pricebook first”)
Creating additional pricebooks can depend on your plan. If New pricebook is disabled, the tooltip reads “This feature is not available on your current plan.”

Access the pricebook screen

Navigate to Products & pricing

In the left side menu, click Products & pricing.

Open Pricebook

Click Pricebook.

Create a new pricebook

Click New pricebook to open the Create a new pricebook dialog.

Configure the pricebook

Select the type, catalog, and currency

In the dialog:
  • Pricebook type: Fixed or Dynamic
  • Catalog: the catalog this pricebook prices (required for Fixed)
  • Currency: the pricebook currency
  • Base pricebook (Dynamic only): the fixed pricebook to calculate from
Click Continue to open the pricebook form.

Fill in general information

In General Information, enter:
  • Name: for example, “Enterprise Pricing” or “EMEA Standard Rates”
  • Reference: internal reference code
  • Category (optional): for example, Standard, Premium, Resellers, International
  • Description (optional)
Pricebook Type, Linked Catalog, and Currency show the values chosen in the dialog.

Configure a dynamic pricebook

For a Dynamic pricebook, fill in the Configuration section:
  • Base Pricebook
  • Operation type: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, or Division
  • Parameter: the value applied (up to 4 decimals)
  • Valid from / Valid to (optional)

Set the product prices

The Products section lists the catalog’s products with Product, Variant, Type, Price, and Tax. For a Fixed pricebook, use Setup price (or Edit the price) on a row to set the pricing model and amount. See Pricing types.To set many prices at once, use Import prices from the pricebook list (start with Export prices to get the current values). See Import prices.

Set the default tax (optional)

Select a Default Tax applied to the pricebook’s prices.

Enter external identifiers (optional)

In Identifiers, fill in the CRM ID, ERP ID, or Accounting ID.

Set status and API name

Set Status to Active. The API Name is generated automatically.
The API Name can only be changed during creation.

Save the pricebook

Click Save at the top right.

What happens next

To use the pricebook on quotes, add it to the Pricebooks of your template (Products and prices section). The Pricebook used in section shows the templates, customers, and customer segments that use it.
If a template has no pricebook, the Pricebook list is empty when creating a quote from that template, and the quote can’t be created.

Troubleshooting

Make sure the catalog exists and is Active in Products & pricing › Catalog.
A dynamic pricebook needs a base. Create a Fixed pricebook first.
Check that:
  • The pricebook status is Active
  • The pricebook is in the template’s Pricebooks
  • The product has a price in this pricebook
  • If you restrict pricebooks per customer or segment (Linked Resources › Pricebooks), the quote’s customer or segment lists this pricebook
Create one pricebook per currency. A pricebook has a single currency. You can link several pricebooks to the same catalog.
The standard pricebook can’t be deleted, and a pricebook used by editable quotes can’t be deleted until those quotes no longer use it.
